CAUTION:
Firstly I would like to say that in this post I will be blunt and
straightforward!
Now
to start off, December 09, 2012 when Marquez succeeded in taking down Manny
PACMAN Pacquiao on their 6/12 rounds clash. We were all surprised at the fall
of the peoples champ; we didn’t expect him to fall that way, neigh we never
expected him to fall at all. As the surrounding people watched in shock and in
horror as the PacMan was lying motionless on the mat, even I myself was at loss
for words on that moment. A part of us all still hoped that our proud peoples
champ would stand and shake it off, it took me a lot of courage to relax and
remain calm, but unfortunately he did not. As the referee waved his hands as a
sign of defeat for the Filipinos pride, much of our companions held back there
tears as we witnessed the fall of our champion. As the Mexican dynamites fans
were roaring with triumph and victory, less could be said about the Filipino fans
that went to see their champion end the final bout between him and his Mexican rival.
That is sports said many Pacquiao “sometimes you win, sometimes you lose” Now
we wait for the announcement of another rematch, as a reporter asked Bob Arum
if it is possible that Pacquiao and Marquez will fight again he just simply
said “ Why not? WHY not? Why not? ” I believe this is not the end of the
Pacquiao and Marquez fight.
Now,
enough of the narration, I will focus more on the bigger picture at hand. The
so called Manny Pacquiao fans who immediately turned their backs on Manny at
the first sight of defeat. I mean how could they even do that? Do they only
acknowledge Manny as the Pinoy Pride when he wins? And now bad mouths him when
he lost? More could be said about the Mexican fans, even if there champions
continually fall prey to the Filipinos champ they didn’t turn their back on
them, and now Manny lost this fight and the so called fans sees it as a very
big loss? I mean how many fights did Manny win, how many enemies experienced
the strength of the Pound-for-Pound King? Well true as they say that no matter
how many good things you have done, one mistake and the people will forget all
the good things that you did. On a interview Manny said “If I lose, then I lose”,
now, many saw the fall of Manny was that because he changed his religion. Are
they saying that the God that Manny believed before is not the same God that he
is serving now? Then it does not support that there is only one God does it?
And that God is mad because he changed his religion? I pity those people,
seriously. Open your eyes! Religion is not the reason why Manny lost! Why can’t
we see that in boxing and other sports that no matter how hard you train there
are still things that are uncertain, just like the punch of Marquez. A lucky
shot or not, let’s admit that Marquez really prepared for this fight and that
he was really determined. While Pacquiao admitted that he was overconfident and
was hungry for a K.O when he charged Marquez on the dying seconds of the 6th
round. But still I commend Manny for being humble and honest despite his loss.
For taking a well handled defeat, Kudos Manny!
And
now lastly I want to share this picture, that really caught my attention,
rather, the phase in the photo caught my attention; it was as if Manny was
sending a message to the Filipino community. The phrase goes, “Ngayong ako ay
nabigo, nasaan na ang mga Kababayan kong Filipino?”
so to those so called fans that said " Manny is old and should retire and that's what he gets for changing his religion “I say Shame on you! You only showed how
shallow minded you are and the true face that hides beneath the mask that
pretends to support Manny.
To my fellow PACMAN fans, Manny needs our
support now more than ever. In good and in Bad. PACMAN!
Filipino Champ
Pinoy Pride
The one and only: Pambansang Kamao!
WE SALUTE YOU!
