Certified Book'o holic!

Posted by Unknown on 03:35
Long time no Post? haha.. been very busy and hadn't found the time to make a post. Anyway, Book'o holic certified! i know i just scrambled the title. Anyway, book reading is one of my hobbies, I've read like almost 50 books, once i have the book that i want in my hands i cant stop reading, especially if the story and the plot is very exciting. I tend to focus on reading and paying no attention to the things around me, that's what happens when i read. I've been told that making that a habit is not good, i mean not the book reading but being engrossed in reading the book and neglecting the things that are happening. been into trouble a number of times by that. not paying attention in class just reading, lowers my social activity especially when im with my friends.. i lose track of time when i read, where this one time i stayed in my room when i checked my clock it was 3 in the afternoon, the next time i looked it was 2am, shocking but i did finish two books then. i think it was The Red Pyramid and the Throne of Fire. anyway, enough of this babbling.. got lot of things to do..again.. shout outs to my fellow book readers.. any book suggestions? :) peace out!

PACMAN: Still the Pinoy Pride.

Posted by Unknown on 10:51

CAUTION: Firstly I would like to say that in this post I will be blunt and straightforward!

Now to start off, December 09, 2012 when Marquez succeeded in taking down Manny PACMAN Pacquiao on their 6/12 rounds clash. We were all surprised at the fall of the peoples champ; we didn’t expect him to fall that way, neigh we never expected him to fall at all. As the surrounding people watched in shock and in horror as the PacMan was lying motionless on the mat, even I myself was at loss for words on that moment. A part of us all still hoped that our proud peoples champ would stand and shake it off, it took me a lot of courage to relax and remain calm, but unfortunately he did not. As the referee waved his hands as a sign of defeat for the Filipinos pride, much of our companions held back there tears as we witnessed the fall of our champion. As the Mexican dynamites fans were roaring with triumph and victory, less could be said about the Filipino fans that went to see their champion end the final bout between him and his Mexican rival. That is sports said many Pacquiao “sometimes you win, sometimes you lose” Now we wait for the announcement of another rematch, as a reporter asked Bob Arum if it is possible that Pacquiao and Marquez will fight again he just simply said “ Why not? WHY not? Why not? ” I believe this is not the end of the Pacquiao and Marquez fight.

Now, enough of the narration, I will focus more on the bigger picture at hand. The so called Manny Pacquiao fans who immediately turned their backs on Manny at the first sight of defeat. I mean how could they even do that? Do they only acknowledge Manny as the Pinoy Pride when he wins? And now bad mouths him when he lost? More could be said about the Mexican fans, even if there champions continually fall prey to the Filipinos champ they didn’t turn their back on them, and now Manny lost this fight and the so called fans sees it as a very big loss? I mean how many fights did Manny win, how many enemies experienced the strength of the Pound-for-Pound King? Well true as they say that no matter how many good things you have done, one mistake and the people will forget all the good things that you did. On a interview Manny said “If I lose, then I lose”, now, many saw the fall of Manny was that because he changed his religion. Are they saying that the God that Manny believed before is not the same God that he is serving now? Then it does not support that there is only one God does it? And that God is mad because he changed his religion? I pity those people, seriously. Open your eyes! Religion is not the reason why Manny lost! Why can’t we see that in boxing and other sports that no matter how hard you train there are still things that are uncertain, just like the punch of Marquez. A lucky shot or not, let’s admit that Marquez really prepared for this fight and that he was really determined. While Pacquiao admitted that he was overconfident and was hungry for a K.O when he charged Marquez on the dying seconds of the 6th round. But still I commend Manny for being humble and honest despite his loss. For taking a well handled defeat, Kudos Manny!

And now lastly I want to share this picture, that really caught my attention, rather, the phase in the photo caught my attention; it was as if Manny was sending a message to the Filipino community. The phrase goes, “Ngayong ako ay nabigo, nasaan na ang mga Kababayan kong Filipino?”

so to those so called fans that said " Manny is old and should retire and that's what he gets for changing his religion I say Shame on you! You only showed how shallow minded you are and the true face that hides beneath the mask that pretends to support Manny.

To my fellow PACMAN fans, Manny needs our support now more than ever. In good and in Bad. PACMAN!

Filipino Champ
Pinoy Pride
The one and only: Pambansang Kamao!
WE SALUTE YOU!

History repeats itself: Super Typhoon

Posted by Unknown on 06:20

SUPER TYPHOON
It hasn’t been a year since sendong came knocking on our doorsteps on the night of December 17, 2011. And here we are again being tested by Mother Nature by a typhoon possibly stronger than sendong. We all remember that day, when our Christmas celebrations would definitely engrave a tragic memory in our minds. It was the first Christmas celebration that I spent on our church, sorting out foods, clothing, soaps, blankets etc. for the victims of sendong. The people who experienced trauma due to the flash flood that took more than 1,200 people and 1.3billion in agriculture and property, people that even now hasn't still recovered from the trauma; I couldn't imagine what they were feeling. I remembered on the morning of December 18, 2011 when my brothers and I including our dad went to some of the places that were really hit by the typhoon, we could only watch in horror as we saw bodies on the sideways covered with blankets, lifeless.  And now here it is again, a typhoon said to be stronger than the previous one, and is headed to the same direction that typhoon sendong was headed, what more can we ask from those people that has lost almost everything from the previous typhoon, what can we possibly do to console them in these events, the thread of hope is slowly getting thinner. But don’t lose hope just yet, it was also said that there have been occasions in the past when a storm suddenly changed direction. But for safety measures, several places that were once hit by sendong have wisely advised the people to evacuate early in order to avoid unfortunate disasters. We don’t want Christmas and New Year to be another tragic memory and we never want a Part II of the Sendong tragedy,  so keep your love ones close guys. Godbless us all!

# FATHER YOU ARE KING OVER THE FLOOD, I WILL BE STILL KNOW YOU ARE GOD!

Xavier University Festival Days: XUFD

Posted by Unknown on 05:13
The Xavier University Festival Days, or better known as XU-days, is one of the most awaited events in our University. Students from different schools would visit our university to be a part and enjoy the festival. Different activities are set to welcome the anticipating guests from other schools and also to us the students of Xavier University, there are photo booths, food stalls, shirts and accessories. XU days also provides live entertainment such as bands and the like, and other than that, the famous horror house is one of the events that never disappoints to make a very long waiting line, but for me and all my 4 years in the university, i haven't gotten inside the horror house even once, why? i don't really know, it's just that, well you know it's not real ghosts that try to scare you in there, i mean i have been to a number of horror houses like the ones in star city (forced to go), but i can't help but think that these things that pop out, fall or pass are fake. (But, totally believe about ghosts though) so why bother being scared or pretending to be scared? No punt intended to the makers of the horror house, I've heard that it's really great. Now, if you really want to be scared and get all the adrenaline that you want why not try bungee jumping? Now that's something worth the screams. But none the less Xavier Days won't be complete if one of these activities is missing, horror house, live bands, photo booths and food stalls;  they make Xavier Days an event worth remembering. Now on a serious note: While writing this i just realized that i stated earlier the line "all of my 4 years in the university" and now got me thinking that this will be the last Xavier Days that i will be attending as a student, because in march, me and a bunch of fourth year students would be saying goodbye to the gates of Xavier University that would be unfortunate, but it is also a proof that we have finally reach our goal, to finally put into practice the things that our school has taught us, last Xavier Days as a student, but definitely not the last Xavier Days as an atenean!

this is how we do it!
